For the past 20 years, our own Michael Schodowski has hosted an event called Benefit On The Bay. It is a night filled with food, drinks, friends, family, fun, and most capuchinimportantly giving back. 100% of the proceeds from the event are donated to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit. This soup kitchen is an amazing treasure of Detroit. Since 1929, it has been providing food to people in need. Not only does it serve 2,000 prepared meals daily between its two locations on Connors Ave and Meldrum, but it also has a service center with clothing, furniture, and canned goods for the less fortunate. The kitchen does not receive any government assistance, so it relies on benefits such as this to continue helping these people.

The Benefit began twenty years ago with just a few friends and family, and my has it grown! Last year, they made a million dollars in net proceeds and continue to raise thousands of dollars each year! For the 20th anniversary on August 23rd, they plan to raise $100,000. To achieve this goal, there will be 150+ silent auction gifts for guests to bid on, a live auction, a poolside afterglow party, and a raffle! With great food, people, and music, everyone is sure to have an unforgettable time!
